  1. Yes. Low resolution. And this map still leaves the entire North Shore and many other parts of Auckland without a rail service. So really was it even worth the multiple billions its cost us.

    1. Do you know how much it would cost to cross over to North Harbour….

      Probably 4x what the CRL costed. Due to having to restrengthen the bridge most likely, the cost to build 5km+ of tracks to get to Albany and then the Trains. The CRL is a better option to grow the economy to prepare to look at Airport Link which is still more important than North Shore. So probably in 15 years time you’ll get the first look at the Harbour line.

      All estimates but it’s essential that the airport link goes ahead first.

        The CRL was never intended to create trains to the North Shore. Instead the North Shore has the Northern Busway. Over 50% of all journeys from the NS to the City Centre are now taken using the Northern Express buses. If you had heavy rail to the NS, where would the stations be located??

  2. Just some thoughts:

    Green line (Swanson – Manukau):
    * What will be the peak interval between services? 7-6-7 minutes or 7-8 minutes?
    Red line (Papakura – Waitamata):
    * According to the minister’s press conference, the peak interval will be 10 minutes (it will probably be something like 8-12 minutes, so there won’t be a clash with the Green line).
    * What will happen to the Red line after crossing the CRL? Will half of the services go via Parnell to Otahuhu? And half express non-stop via Panmure to Otahuhu, then all stops to Puhinui, and then express to Papakura, and then all to Pukekohe?
    Blue line (Onehunga – Henderson):
    * What will be the peak interval? I would say 15 minutes (if the Green line is 7-6-7 minutes) or 20 minutes (if the Green line is 7-8 minutes).
    * Also, as the Henderson station improvement won’t be ready for the CRL, there will be services only to Kingsland (turning at Morningside for operational reasons, not for customer service).
    * Certainly, if the Blue line interval is anything less than 30 minutes, there will be some services only between Henderson/Kingsland and Newmarket
