The Auckland Transport Agency
I commented a few weeks back on the Auckland Transport Agency, when it was first announced – and I further explored the issue last week. This agency is effectively the answer to the question of ‘how is transport going to be dealt with under the super-city?’…
US Transport Videos
A great video about what Washington DC is doing to improve their transport system: And another one about New York City and transportation ethics. This one is particularly interesting in my opinion: It really does feel like we’re a long way behind the rest of the world doesn’t it?…
George Wood misses the point
A few days ago there was an interesting, if rather anti public transport opinion piece in the NZ Herald, by former North Shore City mayor George Wood – called ‘Upgrading metro rail system incurs huge cost’. Transport and Quality of Life
I came across a bit of a “think-piece” written by Chris Harris (the public transport advocate, not the cricketer) that is simply too good and interesting not to share. I won’t quote all of what he wrote verbatim, because it relates to a submission on a policy plan, but there are some fascinating tracts.…
